MUSIC MINISTRY

”Indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord…the Glory of the Lord filled the house of God.” II Chronicles 5: 13 & 14 KJV

The First Baptist Church Music Ministry aims to perpetuate the musical tradition of praising God and supporting the vision of the Pastor by bringing the message of salvation in song and bringing the lost to Christ through the rendition of Hymns, Gospel Songs, Anthems/Psalms, Spirituals and other forms of Christian music.

ACTIVITIES:

The activities of the Music Ministry grow out of its purpose to serve and support the evangelical needs of the congregation and its desire to develop an appreciation for all types of Christian music. Such activities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide music for all worship services and ordinances of the Church
• Provide music for funerals of Church members
• Plan and implement an annual Music Workshop or Retreat
• Provide music for spring and fall Revivals
• Provide music for the Lenten season (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday)
• Initiate a Musical Outreach Fellowship with neighboring churches
• Coordinate a Youth talent show
• Annual Christmas Cantata
